STEP PROGRAM

The SNAP Training and Employment Program (STEP) is the state's employment and training program for people 16 years and older who are receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. 

Not available to People who are receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits and people who are eligible for the JOBS program

FEMA FUNERAL ASSISTANCE


FEMA offers financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.

Online application are not available. You MUST call.

You must be a U.S citizen, non- citizen national or qualified alien to apply

PORTLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2 week classes)


This program is designed to help you identify your career goals and create a plan to achieve them, all while providing a space for you to practice your job-related English skills. This class meets in-person at the PCC Metro Center at no cost to participants.

CHILD CARE (DHS)


DHS offers childcare programs that help with childcare costs. Their Employment Related Day Care program (ERDC) helps working families pay for child care. ERDC is a subsidy program. This means families may pay part of the child care cost which is based on gross income and household size

ERDC covers school children in distance learning due to COVID-19.

-For low income Oregon Residents.

-Must be Employed ((Exceptions made for medical reason))

-Qualifying children are: Under 13 years old who need care 13 to 17 years old who need care because of special circumstances U.S. citizens or qualifying non-citizens.

Formerly food snaps  

The Oregon trail card can be used like a debit card to buy food anywhere EBT is accepted. Available to eligible students and Adults based on Income and household size.

Provides food boxes to people in need. For more info see the social services section of the phone book


Congregate and Home Delivered Meals


 Available to those 60+ years for a suggested donation. For more information call the Ageing and Disability Resource Connection of Oregon (ARDC and request finding a mealsite or click HERE


School Meals Program


Call your local school for help paying for meal at lunch or before or after school
