At EECRC, we are passionate about empowering the youth and parents through education. To aid in that we provide the following services:
PCL sponsored Culturally focused mentoring services including outdoor science camps and leadership development focused on youths.
SEED- 2 years grant is helping our youth demonstrate improvement in academic achievement , self confidence , mental wellbeing and leadership skills.
The Oregon Food Bank - Network Support Fund Funded EECRC to provide education and training on the underlying issues affecting our community members including equity and inclusion and US History.
In collaboration with the City of Portland, we have created a project that focuses on early intervention and reduction strategies to address gun violence and other forms of violence against youth within the Ethiopian and Eritrean community. In order to assist the youth in creating a sense of community and identity that will spread to classmates, neighborhoods, and other areas, the initiative uses outdoor activities, workshops, social networking, stress management, communication skill training, mentorship, and tutoring.
